Distracted...

The weather has been glorious the past week and I had to go back out in
the garden to indulge in some photography.
I absoloutely LOVE this time of year!
The veg garden is FINALLY beginning to produce
after a long, cool, wet spring and early summer.
Today I made my way into the potato patch to find
these lovely little fingerlings...
Beautiful beets...
Sunflowers gathering size and strength, turning all day in the direction of the light...
Getting lost inside the tent of beans...
If I was a mouse, I would find shade in the onion forest!
This time of year, it's a cinch to make a meal of the bounty at hand...
"But where's the beef?" you say...
Who needs it!
This was the menu tonight...
New fingerling potatoes, sauted in butter with fresh garlic and rosemary.
Steamed beets with a balsamic, brown sugar sauce.
Cauliflower, steamed, tossed in butter and covered with smoked gouda.
Mixed greens salad with baby carrots and peas, dressed with home made ceaser salad.
And all washed down with a big glass of smooth red wine!
YUM.

Yum is right! I am interesting in the balsamic and brown sugar sauce (?) over the beets!
