Make, make and more making!

Last week was Kids Garden Club day at the allotment here in Sooke.
There's always such a buzz of energy on this night and tonight
with the gorgeous weather, well, it was perfect!
First stop was the flower pounding station...
Fresh flowers and leaves are placed between paper...
...and hammer in hand, let the pounding commence!!
The kids had a ball making this the noisiest table at the meeting!!
The colours that transferred were so vibrant!
Of course it wouldn't be the garden club if we didn't plant something now would it?!
First to the wheelbarrows to get some beautiful rich soil...
...and over to the table to fill up the pots with some colourful flowers...
 Everyone got their hands dirty...
...and knees!
Markers were made for the sunflowers...
...marigolds to keep the bugs at bay...
these pots will be full of pretty flowers in no time!
One of the best tables at the meeting is the food table!
You can tell by the concentration on the kids faces that these are some serious foodies!
maybe, just maybe, you might get a taste dad!
 mmm yoghurt dill dressing...
 ...can't hardly wait!
There's always something to learn about the wildlife in the garden and this week
it was all about birds. A whole lot of colouring was going on at this table...
 Once again...concentration was key...
Speaking of making things...the kids made these great little row markers...
 Give peas a chance!
Everyone got in on the deal...
 Even the little ones!
All in all a good time was had by everyone!
See you next month awesome kid gardeners!!
